Machine-readable climate data

I was recently searching the web for some sources of machine-readable climate data, particularly around climate change and global warming. As it wasn't that easy I thought I'd post some links here to, hopefully, make it easier for others in the future.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Data Distribution Centre

Worldwide environmental data from the international panel set up to look at climate change. Includes observed climate data, possible climate scenarios and environmental and socio-economic data. From 1901-2000.

Climate monitoring from the Met Office Hadley Centre

UK precipitation and temperature data (from 1873), global air and sea temperature (from 1871) and sea-ice concentration.

Data from the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia

Worldwide temperature and precipitation (from 1850) and paleoclimatic data.

All the data sets are freely available, I think, and formatted as structured ASCII data. If I find any more links I will post them on http://del.icio.us/tristanf/climate.

Why is it called cookin'/relaxin'? They're the titles of two of a series of Miles Davis albums which also describe some of my favourite things.
