Giant Radio 1 Infographic

This...

The whole thing

...is a giant infographic of Radio 1 on Sunday 10th December. Every 10 minutes ("time" going down the image) there is a list of the most popular words in the SMS text messages sent in by Radio 1's listeners during that time (from the Radio 1 SMS cloud), the font size for each word is proportional to that word's popularity. The blue line down the left shows how many SMS came in during the last minute and the DJ/show and tracks played during the day are towards the right of the picture. Built with the ever useful processing, as well as producing giant images it also runs live, scrolling very slowly...

Here's a close-up...

I've also done a bit of analysis of the words sent in, we were wondering if there was any correlation between the DJ or the current track playing and the words. Unfortunately, from my rather superficial analysis, there didn't seem to be any such correlation. Most of the words sent in seemed to be messages to the DJ or responses to on-air requests, questions or competitions.

We're also planning on putting a feed up on backstage.bbc.co.uk of the popular words from the Radio 1 SMS cloud so get your thinking caps on.

Why is it called cookin'/relaxin'? They're the titles of two of a series of Miles Davis albums which also describe some of my favourite things.
