Later...on Amazon

Just watched Later...with Jools Holland from a couple of weeks ago, it was the last in the series and featured Raul Midón - a latin- and folk-tinged R&B singer from the States. His performance [YouTube video] was fantastic with rapid flamenco-esque acoustic guitar work relying on harmonics, a great voice and even a vocal trumpet solo (which started almost comedically and then drew you in).

Anyway, I'd downloaded Sunshine from iTunes a few weeks ago and so went on to Amazon to check out his album. Intriguingly, and this is the point of this post, the recommendations based on what other people who bought this included Cat Power, Plan B and Divine Comedy - most of the other guests on the show. So do people really watch Later... then hop on to Amazon and just buy all the albums???

(Haven't bought it yet, in my wishlist for later.)

I'm Tristan Ferne and I'm the lead producer in the BBC R&D Prototyping team. I'm interested in lots of things, but here I write about the web, media, music and books. You can contact me at tristan.ferne at gmail[dot]com or I'm @tristanf on Twitter.

Why is it called cookin'/relaxin'? They're the titles of two of a series of Miles Davis albums which also describe some of my favourite things.
