the silver spoon

This is my new favourite cookbook. The Silver Spoon (Il Cucchiaio d'Argento), published by Phaidon, is a classic Italian recipe book but this is the first English translation. It looks great and is massive (1000-odd pages) with several recipes per page. Some highlights so far...

  • Torta Rustica Arcobaleno - spinach, cheese and pepper pie
  • Linguine Al Pesto Genovese
  • Frittata Con Le Olive

Yay - that means with 1000 pages and 2-3 recipes per page, if you invite me round for dinner to test each one I reckon I won't need to feed myself till September 2012!

about this blog

I'm Tristan Ferne and I'm the lead producer in the BBC R&D Prototyping team. I'm interested in lots of things, but here I write about the web, media, music and books. You can contact me at tristan.ferne at gmail[dot]com or I'm @tristanf on Twitter.

Why is it called cookin'/relaxin'? They're the titles of two of a series of Miles Davis albums which also describe some of my favourite things.
