many cds

Steve Reid Ensemble - Spirit Walk
New album from legendary drummer Steve Reid also featuring Kieran Hebden from FourTet. He played on "Dancing on the Streets", as a kid he hung out in John Coltrane's living room and he's left-handed. 70s space jazz though a bit too much organ for my liking.

Sleepwalker - Sleepwalker

Crazy, loud, old school jap-jazz.

The Don Rendell/Ian Carr Quintet - Shades Of Blue/Dusk Fire
Classic UK jazz from 1965/66. Love Blue Mosque and Dusk Fire. I get a thrill from listening to great stuff from British jazz musicians who were playing this stuff before I was born. They were pretty much unrecognized in their time but they did things just as well as the Americans were.

Why is it called cookin'/relaxin'? They're the titles of two of a series of Miles Davis albums which also describe some of my favourite things.
